Got a fish story?

Florida's waterways are a world-class destination for both their beauty and sport. But, occasionally, a string of stories appears that could make even the most experienced angler do a double-take.

The quirky news of the moment: apparently spurned by continuing drought conditions, Florida’s fish are a bit feisty this year. In fact, newspapers as far away as the UK’s Telegraph are reporting that Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Commission have launched a campaign to warn boaters after run-ins with 200-lb sturgeons have left injuries including “a fractured spine, collapsed lung, ruptured spleen, slit throat, broken ribs and wounds that have required plastic surgery.”

It’s not only sturgeons that are in an uproar. King mackerels evidently aren’t happy, either. And, as one CNN reporter recently learned, fish are attacking as far north as the Great Lakes.

So, do you have any first or secondhand fish stories of your own? If you do, send them our way and we’ll share them here on Inside IFAS. While you're at it, we would also love to hear about the types of unique and awesome experiences that could only happen on Florida's waterways.
