Need an IFAS logo? Here's help.

You may not work in public relations or graphic design but every so often it happens anyway—you need a current IFAS logo, also known as a wordmark.

What to do?

Relax. Thanks to IFAS Communication Services, there’s an entire Web site where you can download dozens of up-to-date wordmarks in various formats. You can find the site here.

Maintained by Tracy Zwillinger of the ICS graphic design team, the site includes wordmarks for IFAS, IFAS extension, CALS and its departments and schools, administrators, centers and programs, all the RECs and all the county extension offices.

Wordmarks that are compatible with Microsoft office products such as PowerPoint are available, but not currently on the site—for information contact Zwillinger at 352-392-2411 ext. 307 or tracydz@ufl.edu.

Most wordmarks are available in color and black and white, in three formats—EPS, JPG and TIF. All files are high resolution so they look great on publications, letterhead or anything else.

If you aren’t sure what you can and cannot do with the wordmarks, or if you have other wordmarks you wanted to use, you can brush up on UF policy at the campuswide identity site, found here.

“I recommend that people download the identity manual, to go over that and that should answer most people’s questions about the new system, where to use it, and if they have further questions they can contact me,” Zwillinger said.

Also, in case you haven’t heard, the Aug. 31 deadline to stop using all documents with noncurrent wordmarks has been rescinded. So it’s okay to continue using outdated envelopes, letterhead, business cards, etc. until supplies are exhausted. This is being done in the interests of sustainability. When ordering or producing new items, obviously, the appropriate current wordmarks should be used.
