Nan-Yao Su honored as UF outstanding alumnus of 2007
IFAS termite expert Nan-Yao Su has been honored as the University of Hawaii’s Outstanding Alumnus for 2007.
Su, who developed the Sentricon termite baiting system that’s been used in 18 countries around the world, was honored at the University of Hawaii’s College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources’ centennial celebration April 12. The Hawaii legislature issued two proclamations recognizing him, as well.
Su, a native of Taiwan, is based at the Fort Lauderdale Research and Education Center. He has been with UF since 1984, and became a professor of entomology in 1994. He began studying subterranean termites as a graduate student in Hawaii.
