FFB's Cara Martin is new FAITC chair
Cara Martin of the Florida Farm Bureau is the new chairperson of Florida Agriculture in the Classroom, Inc.
Martin, who has a master’s degree in food and resource economics from UF, has been on the board of directors for the agriculture education group for six years. She follows Heather Nedley of the Polk County Farm Bureau, whose two-year term as chairman ended this year.
The panel also elected Ila Allen Crocker of Crocker Country Farms as its vice chairman and Vina Jean Banks of the Florida Beef Council as secretary. Joan Kyle of Florida Fertilizer and Agrichemical Association is treasurer of the Gainesville-based nonprofit.
Florida Ag in the Classroom is funded by agriculture specialty license plate sales and works to educate K-12 students and teachers about the importance of agriculture.
