Marvels of food factories, circa 1934
One of IFAS's strengths has long been developing new ways to deliver safe and convenient food to the consumer. In the future, we can look forward to processes that preserve food without robbing taste and nutrients, such as Professor Murat Balaban's method of pasteurizing orange juice with carbon dioxide instead of heat.
Here is a blog that features a Popular Science article from 1934 that is boasting the technological food processing achievements of the day. It's interesting to see that many things have changed...and some haven't.
